Becoming an ITIL® Expert
September 2009 | The release of ITIL Version 3 also saw the development of a new qualification scheme. The most important change in the new scheme is the introduction of a credit point system: the participants receive points for each certification, and when they have at least 22 points they receive the ITIL Expert certificate.
All of the ITIL V2 certifications still remain valid. Anyone who wants to be certified using ITIL V3 can lay the groundwork for this using the ITIL V3 Foundation Bridge until the end of 2010.
According to the OGC qualification scheme, after the ITIL V3 Foundation training the participants can choose between different modules of the ITIL Service Lifecycle and/or the ITIL Service Capability Stream. ITIL Expert status can then be reached by taking the course “Managing Across the Lifecycle.” Testing formats are not yet available for the Advanced and/or Master level.

Tipp: ITIL® Credit Profiler
With the OGC’s Credit Profiler system, you can calculate your own point totals, current level and certification paths at www.itil-officialsite.com/itilservices/v1/map.asp
